Sole Sister Productions is a melding of three distinct personalities, three different approaches to trimming and looking at horses’ hooves and three different working environments. When you order our series of DVDs, you will benefit from a very well rounded and extensive body of knowledge. Ruth, Kim and Paige are long time professional hoof care providers. Since 2000, Ruth and Paige have shared information, education, and friendship on our quest to help horses. In 2003, Kim joined us.
Not only do we share our trimming experience and knowledge, the three of us own, ride and live with horses. Kim rides extensively in the Appalachian and Catskill Mountains in upstate New York. Ruth rides many hours a day.
Now her riding is in the desert of Arizona. Prior to this she rode in farming areas of Michigan, fox hunting regions New Jersey and piedmont Virginia. Paige grew up on barefoot horses riding in the mountains of northern Georgia and Arkansas, the sandy, loamy soil of coastal North Carolina and now the Blue Ridge Mountains and rolling hills of northern Virginia.
It is the shared knowledge and shared experience that has given us the tools to teach others. We have created Sole Sister Productions so that we can help more owners and ultimately more horses.
This first video depicts our basic philosophies of trimming. Some of the details you will see in “Trimming from the Top, Basics” are how we achieve balance, address the bottom of the foot, and how and why we roll the hoof walls. All our forthcoming videos compliment the information you see in this first video.
Our goal is to help horse owners gain knowledge about the equine foot in practical, easy to understand ways. The videos are meant to increase your understanding and to be informative. We understand that hands on learning is optimal, so we are available to do clinics.
